We stumbled upon CTK Lutheran School in the spring of 2016 at a time when life for us was full of chaos as we searched for a school that would be a better fit for our children; a daughter and son who would be entering 3rd grade and preschool in the fall. Our daughter had attended a local public school up to that point, and while she was thriving, we just felt that something was missing. An acquaintance’s children were students at CTK, and at her encouragement, I called to schedule a tour.
As soon as I entered, the school, I knew that this was exactly where I wanted my children to be educated. The cheerful greeting in the office, the polite students in the classrooms, and the teachers who enthusiastically took moments to introduce themselves all made me feel like I was HOME. Instantly. I had never met any of them before yet they were all incredibly familiar. I could feel the joy and comfort that exuded from everyone we encountered during that brief tour. My husband and I completed the enrollment paperwork that evening, and it was one of the best decisions that we have made for our family. CTK quickly became a second home for all of us!
I could go on forever detailing the things that we love the most about CTK—the students are all incredible young disciples who live each day walking in the light of our Savior; the staff is the most dedicated group of people that I have ever met; the curriculum challenges the students—I would argue that CTK students enter high school more prepared than any other students in the area! While all of these things are true, the best thing about CTK in my opinion is that it really does become like an extended family. I have formed great relationships with teachers, staff, and other parents. I drop my children off to school every morning knowing that I am placing them in the hands of a group of people who genuinely love and care for them—encourage them, cheer for them, help them develop not only intellectually but spiritually as well. I love that I see these faces every Sunday at worship and that I have the ability to connect with them so many times throughout the school year. CTK does a fantastic job keeping parents involved through numerous events throughout the year. The annual Fun Run, Trunk or Treat, auction, Daddy Daughter dance, Mother Son activities, athletic program, Christmas program, Education Fair—all of these events give us an opportunity to gather and celebrate the growth of our children! I have never been happier and feel incredibly blessed that our family is a part of this community!
